With the recently release of Chroma Noir Jungle, I began the journey of growing my Chroma Noir series. This has lead me to needing to bring Chroma Noir's visual inline with my future vision for the project, and with it's first expansion, thus we have update v2.1.

This update adds a large list of additions, including a palette overhaul, new environmental background decorations (seend in the before and after below), new character animations, enemy animations, and more!

Changes seen in the above mockup include, new background tiles, decorations for the building, background vines, new overall palette, and more.


Changes


  • Added background variations for all overworld types, desert, grassland, oddland, etc (environment).
  • Added more background variations for underground, darker variations, lighter, etc (environment).
  • Added enemy hit and death animations (enemies).
  • Added large slime enemy (enemies).
  • Added background variations of other things, including banners (environment).
  • Added hero character hit and death animations (hero).
  • Added background variation of other environmental assets, trees, etc (environment).
  • Updated pallete to be more consistent and fit the jungle expansion (palette).
  • Changed the sprite sheet organization to be much easier to read (sprites).
  • Updated all mockups to show off new background assets (mockups).
